The Team
Who We Are

Gillian Smith
Managing Director
For the past 15 years, Gillian’s career has spanned Human Resources, Business Management & Non-Profit Leadership. Her professional career began in the corporate world in the areas of business and banking; however, after completing graduate school, Gillian struggled with an unsettling desire to pursue more meaningful work that improves the community, with a particular passion for youth and families.

Thereafter, for 5 years, she served in senior leadership roles with the YMCA of the Cayman Islands. In 2021 - together with her husband Greg - Gillian launched Activate Cayman, a consulting firm which specializes in organizational culture, team dynamics and leadership development.
As a small business, Gillian wears many hats at Activate Cayman, including managing day-to-day operations and accounting, providing support for programming, and consulting with clients in the areas of Human Resources and Non-profit Management.

Gillian earned her BBA in Human Resources from Temple University in Philadelphia in 2010, as well as her MBA from Westminster Business School in London in 2015.

Personally, Gillian enjoys traveling and spending time with family; particularly, being an Auntie to 6 little ones and lovingly mothering her Cayman Coconut pup, named Kylie.
